Burning Regulations

We are often asked by the public whether or not it is safe or legal for them to burn yard waste on thier property. Within the High Ridge Fire Protection District the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and local governments are the authorities that govern what material individuals can burn and when. First determine if your local government such as a municipality has it's own specific rules reguarding open burning. Second, see the Chapter 5 Open Burning Regulations affecting the local county governments. Visit the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Website or call 314-416-2960 for more information on open burning under Missouri regulations.
